The QSuper School Support Staff Recognition Week competition highlights the invaluable contributions of many incredible school support staff members working across Queensland.
The crucial role school support staff members perform can often be overlooked, but without these tireless and dedicated people helping to facilitate teaching and learning, education would not happen.
A broad spectrum of employees help the Department of Education facilitate the teaching and learning of Queensland students, and we invited teachers, parents and other school support workers to nominate a schools officer, administration officer, science technician, school business manager, agricultural assistant or an IT technician, to name a few, for the important work they do.
School Support Staff Recognition Week 2022 took place from 5-9 September and offered a great opportunity to acknowledge the essential contribution of these important workers.
Erick Cordero, Australian Retirement Trust’s Head of Government and Stakeholder Relationships, applauded the commitment of school support staff and pointed out that more than 100,000 Queensland Department of Education employees hold QSuper accounts.
“We’re very proud that we can support members who support our school system. They’re quite often tirelessly working behind the scenes and we must not forget that without them, education would not happen,” Mr Cordero said.
“This year we received hundreds of responses, highlighting the dedication and effort of so many school workers, and their willingness to support students.”
