QSuper’s School Support Staff Recognition Week competition has thrown the spotlight on the invaluable contributions of so many school support staff members across Queensland and we are delighted to reveal the 2020 winners.
It can be easy to overlook the crucial role school support staff perform, but it is important to understand that without these tireless and dedicated workers to help facilitate teaching and learning, education would not happen.
School Support Staff Recognition Week took place from 7-11 September this year and was a great opportunity to acknowledge the essential work done by these important people.
A whole range of employees across the state help the Department of Education facilitate the teaching and learning of students, and we invited teachers, parents and other school support workers to nominate a schools officer, administration officer, science technician, school business manager, agricultural assistant or an IT technician, to name a few, for the important work they do.
We received hundreds of heartfelt responses, highlighting the dedication and effort of so many different school workers, and their willingness to support students.
And the winners are…
Our selection panel found it challenging to settle on just seven winners, and we thank everyone who entered the competition. Congratulations to the below winners:
Lynne Beasley – Aviation High School, Metropolitan
Steve Saunders – Dunwich State School, South East
Damien MacDown – Murgon State High School, Darling Downs and South West
Tracey Quintieri – Woree State High School, Far North Queensland
Kylie Richards – Nambour State College, North Coast (pictured above with QSuper’s Amanda Kirkwood)
Natalie Tucker, Emma Young, Stacey Delany O’Reilly – Monto State High School, Central Queensland
Ahmed Osman – Townsville State High School, North Queensland
QSuper is proud to celebrate Queensland’s school support staff and thank them for the valued role they play in the lives of their students and school communities.
Each winning entrant will receive a $1,000 prize pack for their school and a $200 voucher for themselves.1
