Flexible insurance you can personalise to your needs

QSuper insurance cover is designed to be flexible. After you join, you can tailor your income protection insurance, total and permanent disability (TPD) cover, or death insurance cover to suit you.

 

Income protection cover

You can change:

  • How much you're insured for (up to set limits)
  • How long before you receive payments (your waiting period)1
  • How long you'll be paid (your benefit period)1
  • How much you pay to better reflect your job (occupational rating)

Total and permanent disability (TPD) cover

You can change:

  • How much you're insured for (up to set limits)
  • How much you pay to better reflect your job (occupational rating)
  • Whether your cover is 'fixed' so the dollar amount doesn't change unless you request it.

Your current level of cover

Make sure you check your current level of cover before you apply to change or personalise it.

When you first join QSuper, we will let you know how much you're insured for. Your level of cover will depend on your age, employment arrangements, and how you joined us.

Make sure you're always covered

You can choose to have your Income Protection, TPD and death cover continue even if you stop receiving money into your QSuper account by 'permanently opting in' to cover.

This makes sure that you are covered even if your contributions are inconsistent – which is great if you're a contract worker. Log in to Member Online to permanently opt in to cover.
