World Teachers' Day 2021 competition winners revealed

QSuper is delighted to pay tribute to Queensland’s dedicated, tireless and simply amazing school teachers – who continue to play such an important role in our communities – by naming the winners of our 2021 World Teachers’ Day competition.

World Teachers’ Day is always a special day when we show our appreciation for Queensland teachers and all that they do.

To celebrate, we invited parents, children, teachers and all members of the community, to recognise a teacher who has made a difference in their lives.

In a year in which the COVID-19 pandemic again forced teachers to be agile in the face of lockdowns and adapt the ways in which they worked, we received hundreds of entries that underlined the great relationships so many teachers have with their students.

As always, our selection panel found it difficult to choose winners from seven regions across Queensland, and we thank everyone who entered.

Emma Sharley – Virginia State School, Metropolitan

Naomi Parker-Craig – John Paul College, South East

Emily Cook – Goondiwindi State Primary School, Darling Downs and South West

Dr Mark Turner – Mareeba State High School, Far North Queensland

Lisa Tuni – Peregian Springs State School, North Coast

Jodee March – Glenmore State School, Central Queensland

Karrie Watts – Heatley Secondary College, North Queensland

Each winner will receive a $100 voucher and a $1,000 prize pack for their school.
