We’re making the switch to non-branded envelopes to help protect our members, especially vulnerable members, and support your privacy.
We aim to protect our members’ privacy both on and offline.
A simple way to help protect your offline communication is by removing branding from envelopes.
What’s changing
We are removing Australian Retirement Trust and QSuper branding from all envelopes that we use to communicate directly with our members. The branding is being phased out as we use up our existing stock.
We will still brand the documents inside the envelopes, so you know it’s from us.
Why we’re doing this
We’re striving to be a force for good and make sure that there are no unintended impacts from sending letters to you.
Members have told us that sometimes, a letter with our branding may be interpreted as containing money. One of the reasons for removing branding is to reduce the risk to recipients of our communications.
You have also told us that there are other reasons you would like us to retain your privacy by not advertising where the letter is from.
Maintaining your privacy and keeping your super account safe is our priority. More information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
How we keep your super account safe
Keeping your account safe is our priority, including protecting you against identity fraud. Here’s what you can expect from us:
- If you call us, we’ll ask some questions so that we can verify your identity. We’ll also call you if we’re suspicious about account activity. For example, a benefit payment or transfer request.
- When we write to you, we won’t include unnecessary personal information, such as your date of birth.
- We also monitor benefit payment and transfer requests to detect any that may be fraudulent.
- We have security measures in place to help reduce the risk of unauthorised access to confidential data and documents.
- We have proof of identity measures in place.
Importantly, we’ll never contact you to ask for the login details for your super account. You should never share your super account, or myGov login details, with anyone who contacts you.
There are also ways you can help keep your super account safe.
Keeping you protected
We’re serious about keeping your super safe and have security in place to protect your accounts. Find out more about password security, about how you can stay safe online, and contact us if you have any concerns.
By working together, we can reduce the likelihood of fraud and help protect your super.
