QSuper has been looking after the retirement savings of Queensland teachers for more than 100 years. World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to say thank you to all our teachers and educators for the important role they play in our communities.
Through QSuper’s Thank You Project, we are inviting teachers and educators from across Queensland to enter our competition for the chance to win one of seven $1,500 prize packs for their school and $100 vouchers for themselves.
To enter, teachers and educators are asked to tell us in 25 words or less what has been their proudest moment as a teacher.
Last year’s competition shone a light on some of the remarkable contributions made by teachers working in state schools across Queensland’s seven Department of Education regions.
This year, the competition has been broadened to encompass teachers and educators from all education institutions within the state, both public and private.1

Teacher profile: Art from the heart
One of last year’s winners of the QSuper’s Thank You Project competition is Arts teacher Kathryn Radunz from Stanthorpe State School, who provides before school and lunch programs that aim to provide a creative outlet and safe space for all students.
Kathryn says she has always liked to help people and one of the best things about her job is that no one day is the same.
“I get to see all the kids in the school, I get to have a relationship with every child. I get to know them and watch them grow, and it’s really rewarding,” she said.
“When I think back to what has given me the most joy, I guess it’s when… kids have that lightbulb moment when they can finally do something and when they’re proud of themselves.
“That’s the best thing for me, is when kids are proud of themselves.”
Supporting the financial wellbeing of Queensland educators
Just as Queensland teachers have a long history of looking after the educational needs and wellbeing of their students and communities, QSuper has been looking after the financial wellbeing of Australians for more than a century.
We aim to give members the confidence to enjoy today knowing their financial future is in safe hands.
QSuper’s Thank You Project is an extension of our ongoing support for the many teachers and behind-the-scenes staff who aim to ensure Queenslanders have the education and confidence they need to make a positive contribution to our state.4
Entries in QSuper’s Thank You Project close on 21 October 2019, and the winners will be announced on World Teachers’ Day in Queensland on 25 October 2019.
1 Entry is open to Queensland residents who are teachers or educators in Queensland. Full terms and conditions for the competition can be found at qsuper.qld.gov.au/worldteachersday
