The red carpet was dusted off recently for the most anticipated event in @JuicedTV’s calendar, the Juicies Awards.
Head of Government and Stakeholder Relations Erick Cordero presented the ‘Medi-cool’ awards to recognise children and siblings who hosted an episode of Juiced TV in 2023.
The Juicies Awards celebrate the stars of Juiced TV – the show made by the kids in hospital, for the kids in hospital. Due to COVID restrictions, the awards had not been held live since 2019, so this year’s event was cause for great celebration.
QSuper, part of Australian Retirement Trust, was honoured to take part in the celebrations and once again, acknowledge the heroes from the Juiced TV Super Hero Awards program.
The partnership is aimed at recognising the wider Queensland Children’s Hospital community – from researchers and medical specialists, doctors and nurses, to hospital support staff and volunteers.
As part of the QSuper team’s support, hospital “super heroes” were nominated, recognised and celebrated by their patients – many of whom contend with extremely challenging illnesses.
Juiced TV provides a chance for the children and their families to recognise the medical and support staff who selflessly dedicate themselves to the wellbeing of others.
Heroes on the front line
Head of Government and Stakeholder Relations Erick Cordero said our support allowed Juiced TV to increase the positive impact the program has had for these children and their families.
“We’re passionate about celebrating the super heroes in our community and support the work they do in providing emergency and primary healthcare services for our members, and all Queenslanders,” Mr Cordero said. “They’re the ones on the front line and are so important to our society.”
This year the awards program has recognised six healthcare super heroes – clinical nurse consultant Philippa Fielden, clinical nurse Stacey Pulford, assistant in nursing Kelly Judd, paediatric nurse Grace Fearon, Dr Gert Tollesson and clinical nurse consultant Jason Hoy.
Stacey (pictured above) was on hand at the Juicies Awards to receive an award from Jason Kelly, Senior Manager Government, to recognise her 16-year contribution to helping children diagnosed with cancer.
Tasked with looking after some of the sickest children admitted to the Queensland Children’s Hospital, Stacey helps her patients face fear and uncertainty every day.
