Join Julia Gillard, Quentin Bryce and QSuper at Women of the World festival.
Money & life
1 February 2020 | 3 min read
Former heavyweights of Australian politics Julia Gillard and Quentin Bryce, have joined forces with QSuper to celebrate women and girls, and to help raise the financial literacy bar for Queenslanders.
Almost one in two women (41%)1 find money decisions overwhelming and women, on average, retire with half the super balance of men.2
We want to help make a change by improving the financial literacy of Queensland women in a concerted effort to bring about financial gender equality.
To that end, QSuper has extended our financial and educational resources to WOW (Women of the World) Australia in Brisbane on 2-5 April 2020. WOW is a global initiative supporting women and girls, action and change.
- WOW is aimed at girls, boys, women and men,
- celebrates female achievements;
- and takes a frank look at the lives of women and girls and the obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential.
We have committed our support over the next two years as the major sponsor, and as a part of this, we will:
- Raise awareness of financial literacy with engaging workshops;
- Participate in panel discussions to break down the taboo of talking candidly about finances;
- Offer small group consultations to generate discussion around money and money management.
Join us for three days of conversations, performances, panels, exhibitions, short talks and more. The festival features a huge array of local and international speakers, including on Saturday 4th April former Governor General and WOW Australia Patron Quentin Bryce and our 27th Prime Minister the Honourable Julia Gillard reflecting on their experiences, achievements and hopes for the future.
