Over time, small moments can have a big impact on the lives of students, which is why we are celebrating World Teachers’ Day 2023 by acknowledging some of the amazing teachers who help make those moments happen.
World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity each year to acknowledge teachers and the significant contributions they make, and the QSuper team, as part of Australian Retirement Trust, takes pride in acknowledging the important role they play in our classrooms and communities.
Through their dedication, innovation and resilience, Queensland teachers help build brighter futures for our next generation. They inspire and are inspired.
World Teachers’ Day is held internationally on 5 October, however Queensland will celebrate the event on 27 October during State Education Week and to mark the occasion we are running a competition we’d like you to enter.
Tell us your inspirational story
We want you to tell us about an inspirational teaching moment you’ve seen. It could be using audiobooks to build a love of reading in your class.
Or it could be doing something different to spark learning confidence in a student who’s struggling. If you’re a teacher, you can nominate yourself, or perhaps nominate another teacher to show your appreciation.
Eight inspiring teachers and their schools will win a prize pack worth $1,100 ─ one for each region including Far North Queensland, North Queensland, Central Queensland, North Coast, Metropolitan North, Metropolitan South, Darling Downs South West and South East.
The nominated teachers who win will each receive a $100 Coles Myer gift card, while $1,000 Officeworks gift cards will be presented to the winner’s school to be used to benefit student learning.
Supporting Queensland’s educators
We are proud to support the financial wellbeing of Queensland’s teachers, just as teachers support the educational needs of students across the state.
And while you help create a better future for your students, we strive to help you to create a better future for yourself in retirement.
Like using salary sacrificing, for example, to help grow your super for life after work. Learn more here.
