No. Like most major superannuation funds in Australia, QSuper is a regulated and complying super fund, and our Board has equal representation from individual trustees and an independent Chair.

We're a profit-for-members super fund, which means we're owned by our members - and we're also one of Australia's largest and most trusted super funds.1

Although we were founded as a fund for Queensland Government employees, QSuper is now open for all Australians to join. For more than 100 years, our people have been working to help our members feel confident that their best years begin now.

From where and when you work, to career break options or leave, we treat every flexible working arrangement request on a case-by-case basis.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we helped almost our entire team of more than 1,300 people switch to working from home. We know that safety at work and at home is vital to doing and feeling your best.

We provide competitive pay, and you can talk about your salary expectations with your hiring manager during the interview stage.

We also reward great performance. Annual performance incentives such as bonuses and remuneration reviews (pay rises) are just two ways your efforts may be recognised. We'll let you know in your interview which incentive schemes may be available for your specific role.

Our other employee benefits include generous leave, flexible and WFH work arrangements, discounted health insurance and gym memberships, and more.

We advertise the location of roles on our job posts. Our main superannuation jobs are in Brisbane; however, we do have some offices located throughout regional Queensland.

And of course, we welcome flexible working and allow working from home. Talk to your interviewer about what options would help you be your best at home and work.

Yes, we do reward great performance. Annual performance incentives such as bonuses and remuneration reviews (pay rises) are just two ways your efforts may be recognised. We'll let you know in your interview which incentive schemes may be available for your specific role.

We also use non-monetary incentives, such as our internal awards and recognition initiatives, a culture that encourages peer recognition in meetings, and more.

Our other employee benefits include generous leave, flexible and WFH work arrangements, discounted health insurance and gym memberships, and more.

As you would expect, QSuper is the super fund you'll join automatically if you don't already have a super fund.

You also have a range of options to boost your super at work, such as salary sacrificing pre-tax contributions or additional post-tax contributions.

In some cases, your employee contributions may be matched with higher super contributions from us as your employer.

How to apply Show all Hide all

Every job is different at QSuper, so the level of qualification and amount of experience needed will depend on the responsibilities of the role.

We assess every application on merit, so if you think you are a good fit for a role, we encourage you to apply.

The roles at QSuper are as diverse as our people, but the application process is usually similar. Here's what you can expect after you've applied for a position.

Assessing your application

The first thing we will assess is whether your application shows you have the specific qualifications and experience we're looking for and you're ready for the role. We keep all applications on file, so even if we feel you're not quite right for a particular role, we may be in touch in the future.

Asking for more information

You can't get to know someone from an application form alone, so we may schedule a phone call or video chat to get to know you a little better and ask any questions.

Interview

We receive a lot of applications for every role, and we can only meet with a limited number of candidates. If you're invited to come in for an interview, you'll meet the hiring manager for the role and another member of the team you would be working with.

To make sure everyone is treated equally and gets the same chance to shine, we have a structured interview process. We'll talk about your career and previous roles, ask you a few technical questions related to the role, and invite you to tell us about how you work.

Culture is really important to us, so we'll also ask why you want to work with us.

You'll have the opportunity to ask your interviewers questions about the role and our company.

References

If you make it to our candidate shortlist, we'll get in touch to ask you which of your referees we should contact for a reference.

We'll also discuss what needs to happen next, as some roles have a couple of extra steps at this stage, like psychometric testing, work skills testing, or a second interview.

Offer

If you've made it this far, congratulations! You are our top choice for the role.

You'll get a phone call with the offer, followed by an email with your contract and any other details you may need. We suggest you read your contract carefully and keep your physical and/or digital copies in a safe place.

Then all that's left is for you to accept the role, so we can officially welcome you onto our team.

We send out a confirmation email to all applicants. If you don't receive one, please check your junk mail folder in case it's ended up there. Otherwise, you can try submitting your application again, perhaps using a different internet browser.

You'll receive a confirmation email when you apply. We want to find the right people for every role we advertise, and as we receive a lot of applications, the selection process can take time. Although we consider all applicants carefully, we're only able to personally contact those candidates that are shortlisted for interview.

If you're being considered for a position with QSuper, we will contact you shortly after the application closing date.

We set our salary ranges based on industry benchmarks, and in line with the experience and skills of applicants.

We don't publish salaries for most roles; however, you can talk about your salary expectations with your hiring manager during the interview stage.
