Did you know...
There's no need to leave
QSuper if your work
circumstances change.
Sue Wright
QSuper member since 2000
Sue Wright has elected for her non-Queensland Government employer to start contributing to her QSuper account – now yours can too.
On 1 July, QSuper introduced a new product extension that allows our members to receive contributions from their non-Queensland Government employers. This is a great opportunity for QSuper members who no longer work for the Queensland Government, or who have a second job, to make managing their super even simpler.
This exciting new product extension was driven by our members. When choice of fund legislation was introduced, allowing individuals to choose where their employer paid their super to, there was an overwhelming demand from ex-Queensland Government employees who wanted to continue their relationship with QSuper.
When Sue heard that QSuper was expanding its offering to allow non-Queensland Government employers to contribute for their members, she jumped at the opportunity to elect QSuper as her fund for employer contributions.
In addition to her position as a nurse for Queensland Health, Sue works for a private nursing agency. When the agency asked Sue where they should pay her super, she was disappointed they weren’t able to pay her contributions to QSuper.
“I wanted to keep my super together when I began my agency job but, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to. Now QSuper will allow my non-Queensland Government employer to contribute for me, and I can keep all my super in one place.”
As the first QSuper member to take up this offer, Sue is excited about her smarter super arrangements. Sue said her reasons for getting her non-Queensland Government employer to contribute to QSuper were clear.
“I like to keep things very simple. I also see little point in having two super funds – after all, I’ve only got one plan and one retirement.”
If you are a current QSuper member whose employer is contributing into another fund on your behalf, you may like to consider asking your employer to contribute to QSuper instead. With all your super in QSuper, you can be sure you’ll only pay one lot of fees. And, in addition, you can continue to enjoy all the benefits of being a QSuper member – a range of educational tools, real service, and great value.
Signing up to receive contributions from your non-Queensland Government employer is an easy and straightforward process, so give our Contact Centre a call today on 1300 360 750. And remember, before making any investment decisions about your super, you should refer to the product disclosure statement for the Accumulation account.
